Title: Custodial Maintenance Worker

FLSA Status:  Full-time Employee

Salary: $12.00-$13.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

Clean and maintain manufacturing facility using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations.

 

Cleaning

  • Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, trash collection and equipment maintenance and repair;

  • Keep building grounds, including sidewalks and parking lots neat and clean;

  • Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash;

  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment – request additional supplies as needed.

 

Maintenance and Repair

  • Assist with set up for events, including arranging tables and chairs;

  • Minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to Facilities Supervisor;

  • Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of water and electricity;

  • Move furniture or equipment within building as directed by the Facilities Supervisor;

Safety

  • Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency;

  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, and climbing. Operator tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory:

  • None

 

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED

 

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures;

  • Knowledge of minor repair techniques;

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment;

  • Forklift Certified – preferred; can train.

  • Ability to properly handle tools, cleaning supplies and other products assocated with the position.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Posture: Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

  • Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching

  • Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis

  • Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours

  • Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress

 

Experience:

1 year cleaning experience preferred.

1 year machine repair experience preferred.
